weekly principal updates

Yealey Families,

It's been a great week at school. I have been able to spend lunches with all 4th grade students this week talking to them about their goals for the year and the lead measures they will take to reach their goals. We also talked about how learning to make goals and set lead measures will help them make their dreams come true as adults. We have a very ambitious group of students filled with future architects, astronauts, engineers, nurses, veterinarians, hairdressers, and teachers.

I was also lucky enough to watch kindergarten and first grade students practice their decoding skills by practicing letter sounds, sound blending, and the magic of the silent "e". And, while these young students were working on decoding, 4th and 5th graders were analyzing poems and figuring out metaphors. It's been a great week of learning.

As a reminder, we are still looking for a minority SBDM parent member. If you are interested, please email Amy Roedersheimer for information.

Tonight is our PTA dance for 3rd-5th graders. I hope everyone who is attending has a great time and enjoys dancing as much as Mr. Rice is going to!

Have a great weekend,

Mrs. Turner
